दिल्ली में भ्रष्टाचार का एक और नमूना। स्वराज इंडिया ने राशन की दुकान में चल रही कालाबाजारी को रंगे हाथ पकड़ा।

 

दिल्ली |कल 11 अक्टूबर को दिल्ली में सरकारी राशन की दुकान में भ्रष्टाचार का एक और मामला सामने आया। वाकया वजीरपुर के सावन पार्क का है जहाँ स्वराज इंडिया के कार्यकर्ता रविन्दर निगम ने सरकारी राशन की दुकान में चल रही एक बड़ी कालाबाज़ारी को रंगे हाथ पकड़ा।

जो चीनी की बोरियाँ गरीब लोगों को मिलनी चाहिए थी वह एक रिक्शा में भर कर प्राइवेट परचून की दुकान पर पहुँचाई जा रही थी। यह होते देख स्वराज इंडिया के कार्यकर्ता रविन्दर ने उस रिक्शा को रुकवाया। इसपर कोटेदार व उनके बेटे और अन्य रिश्तेदारों ने उनके के साथ हाथापाई की और धमकी दिया। जिसके बाद स्वराज इंडिया वजीरपुर के कार्यकर्ताओं व स्थानीय महिलाओं ने इसका पुरजोर विरोध किया और मामले की जानकारी पुलिस को दी गई। 

मौके पर पहुँचने के बाद पुलिस उस रिक्शा ठेले को जब्त कर थाना ले गई। बाद में पुलिस द्वारा यह कहा गया कि यह हमारा मामला नहीं है, यह खाद्य निरीक्षक के अन्तर्गत आता है। फिर खाद्य निरीक्षक को इसकी जानकारी दी गई। वह थाने आये और जब कोटेदार से रजिस्टर मंगवाई गई तो उसमें कई प्रकार की खामियां थी। खाद्य निरीक्षक ने इस बात को स्वीकार किया और आश्वासन दिया कि इनके खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई होगी। 

स्थानीय जनता को जब इसकी सूचना मिली तो काफी महिलाएँ वहाँ इक्कट्ठा हो गई और उन्होंने भी पुलिस-प्रशासन से राशन की दुकान में चल रही गड़बड़ियों की शिकायत की। स्थानीय लाभुक महिलाओं की शिकायत है कि पिछले कई महीनों से चावल नहीं दिया गया, गेहूं भी कम मिलती है और चीनी की गुणवत्ता बिलकुल निम्न स्तर की होती है। यह सारी बातें खाद्य निरीक्षक ने भी स्वीकार किया।

जब इस बात की शिकायत स्थानीय विधायक राजेश गुप्ता से की गई तो उन्होंने लिखित में शिकायत देने की बात कहा। दुःखद बात यह है क़ि जब आज फिर से कोटेदार ने अपनी दुकान खोला तो विरोध करने वाली सभी महिलाओं को राशन देने से बिलकुल मना कर दिया और धमकाया कि जो करना है कर लो, सब को अपने जेब में रखता हूँ। साथ ही, जिस ठेले को पुलिस जब्त कर थाने ले गई थी वह भी कोटेदार आज अपने यहाँ ले आया।

खाद्य निरीक्षक के द्वारा क़िसी कार्रवाई का पता नहीं चला है।

क्या वाकई दिल्ली में भ्रष्टाचार इस कदर मज़बूत हो गया है?

क्या वाक़ई दिल्ली का सरकारी तंत्र एक कोटेदार के सामने घुटने टेक देता है?

स्वराज इंडिया बेहद गंभीर हो ऐसे घटनाओं की निंदा करती है। हम माँग करते हैं कि सरकार व सरकारी तंत्र ऐसे मुद्दे को जल्द से जल्द सुलझा कर उपभोक्ताओं को उचित लाभ व दोषियों को गंभीर सज़ा दे। अगर दोषियों को सजा व उपभोक्ताओं के लाभ में किसी भी तरह की कोताही बरती जायेगी तो स्वराज इंडिया इस मुद्दे को लेकर सड़क पर उतरेगी और न्याय मिलने तक हरसंभव संघर्ष करेगी।

Enthusiastic Participation at Chicago Swaraj Abhiyan Dialogue on India's Development Press Note, Swaraj Abhiyan, 12-Oct-2015

Oct 4, 2015, Chicago, IL:   To celebrate the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Chicago chapter of Swaraj Abhiyan organized an interactive dialogue on "Citizen Engagement for Development of India" on Oct 4, at the Schaumburg Public Library.  The event witnessed large participation and amazing energy from a diversity of people from all walks of life across Chicagoland.

Participants talked about their vision for India and how they could contribute to realizing it.  Swaraj Abhiyan volunteers sang a song full of hope and inspiration for changing the world to which guests also clapped along enthusiastically.

Sociologist Margaret Mead's famous quote- "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has” opened the dialogue and became the theme for the event. People were asked to reflect on how they wanted to engage with the world- as a bystander on the street, a vocal critic, a hopeless apathetic, a perpetual cynic, as Nero fiddling while Rome burnt or as a concerned and engaged citizen.  

Swaraj Abhiyan was introduced as a pan India organization with NRI chapters in different countries whose mission was to inspire and engage citizens to tackle the most pressing problems facing India, and the world, so that we can collectively create a better India, and a better world.  The Vision of Swaraj Abhiyan- to create “Swaraj” or self-rule so that power can be restored to the people to enable ideal democratic functioning, was shared.  It was further added, that to achieve this goal, citizens need to be aware, engaged, and join with each other to get collective strength and a powerful voice, and find innovative solutions to National problems.  

Swaraj Abhiyan seeks to be the catalyst to enable citizen engagement in the political process to co-create the future we dream of - a world that has freedom from fear, hunger and oppression.  The dialogue ended with participants sharing information about organizations, missions or projects that they were involved in, for India’s development. Attendees expressed a desire to have many more future dialogue events like this and to be part of the “small group of thoughtful, committed citizens who can change the world”.

• AAP govt's decision of not granting new liquor licences to restaurants & malls, as a policy decision till this financial year, is people's victory.

• Although a welcome step, it is evidently clear that the announcement is guided by immediate political considerations in Punjab rather than any genuine concern for the people of Delhi.

• In coming days, Swaraj Abhiyan will expose a scam in the name of granting liquor licences to malls.​

Delhi | It has come to our knowledge through media reports that the AAP govt has directed it's excise department not to grant new liquor licences to restaurants & malls, as a policy decision over till this financial year. Although a welcome step, it is evidently clear that the decision is guided by immediate political considerations in Punjab rather than any genuine concern for the people of Delhi. The govt has told that the announcement will be in effect only till March 31, which clears all doubts about the AAP government's real intent. Swaraj India demands that Delhi's excise policy be determined by what is best for the people of Delhi, not by political concerns of a party's election campaign in a different state.

It would not be surprising if the Aam Aadmi Party leadership may have already planned to get the decision legally challenge by liquor lobby and then put a weak case in the court. A tacit understanding between the liquor lobby and Aam Aadmi Party govt, which have played hand in gloves in the 18 months of power, cannot be ruled out.

Swaraj Abhiyan has exposed and completely cornered the Aam Aadmi Party for its policy of encouraging alcoholism in the national capital. It was brought to public notice that the AAP government which came to power on the promise of de addiction has granted an alarming 399 liquor licenses in just 371 working days.

In reaction to the mass campaign and various public hearings in Delhi conducted by Swaraj Abhiyan, the chief minister Mr. Kejriwal was earlier forced to approve the policy that no new licences will be provided for opening of private and government run liquor shops during the current financial year, but then kept out the L10 licences for shops in malls.

However, now the excise department has been directed to not issue any licence till further orders to even applicants for shops in malls and restaurants. In coming days, Swaraj Abhiyan
